BEACON – The City of Beacon supports solar power and, in fact, is working to develop a solar farm on its old, capped landfill.  But, officials want to place controls on the infrastructure to prevent visual pollution.
Mayor Randy Casale said they want to be sure that the effects are positive.
“We want people to have solar, but when you are in a neighbor and they put them in open space next to somebody’s yard, we want control over it,” Casale said.
The city council will conduct a public hearing in the next several weeks to gain input from city residents.
