TOWN OF THOMPSON – A Woodbourne man is in the Sullivan County Jail without bail after he returned to the scene of the crime for a third time.
Josef Jordan, 39, was arrested at around 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Clearview Mountain Country Colony on Old Liberty Road in the Town of Thompson.
Elkanah Adelman is the daycare center counselor at the bungalow colony. He said the suspect burglarized a bungalow on Monday, stole a purse and used a stolen credit card to buy power tools at the Home Depot in Monticello.
Jordan returned on Tuesday and was seen walking out of another bungalow carrying the family laptop. A relative spotted the man and took photos of his car and license plate.
On Wednesday, Jordan returned to the bungalow colony for a third time
and Adelman’s wife and friend recognized his car and plate number.
They sent out a text message and approached him. He told them he was looking
for work.
“They had it set up that she would interview him while the cops were on the way,” Adelman said.  “I called 911 immediately and the sheriff responded in excellent response time, in about a minute-and-a-half. Some camp residents kept Jordan occupied until the officers arrived and took him into custody.”
Jordan was charged with two counts of burglary.
