Severe storms hit region

HUDSON VALLEY – Strong thunderstorms with heavy winds, torrential rain and frequent cloud to ground lightning rumbled through the region late Friday afternoon and evening, causing widespread flooding, bringing down trees and power lines and causing some motor vehicle accidents.  A tornado watch was in effect for much of the afternoon and evening,
