GOSHEN – State Police Captain Brendan Casey has been appointed
as Orange County’s commissioner of Emergency Services by County
Executive Steven Neuhaus.

He replaces Walter Koury who recently retired as the first commissioner
of that department for the last 12 years.
Casey will begin his new duties on July 15.

For the last four years, he has been responsible for day-to-day operations
for Zone 2 of Troop F, which consists of Orange and Rockland counties.

He began his career with the State Police in 1986 as a uniformed trooper.

The county legislature must confirm Casey’s appointment, which is
expected to be only a formality.
