Three charged after loaded handgun recovered

PEEKSKILL – Police in Peekskill charged three men with possessing a loaded handgun after a traffic stop late Monday night.
An officer stopped a vehicle on the Bear Mountain Parkway after observing the driver, Garfield Holland, 23, commiting a traffic offense.
Investigation revealed Holland had a suspended license resulting in him being taken into custody on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation.
Two other officers arrived on the scene and saw the front seat passenger, Noah Waldstein, 23, attempt to reach for an unknown object under the seat.
Both the front seat passenger and rear seat passenger, Cain Smalls, 23, were removed from the vehicle and investigation revealed a loaded 9mm handgun under the front passenger seat.
All three men were charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of a firearm after the weapon was found to have been defaced.  Waldstein was also charged with criminal impersonation after he gave officers a false name and he was also found to have an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court on a previous charge.
Garfield and Holland live in Cortlandt Manor while Smalls lives in Peekskill.
