NEWBURGH – The chairman of the Newburgh City Civil Service Commission, Richard Gadbois, has resigned leaving just two members on the appointed agency that oversees hiring in the city. Gadbois’ term was about to expire.
Of the remaining two members, the term of Vera Best has expired but she remains on as a holdover and Richard Murphy’s is still active.
Filling vacancies on the commission is a function of the city council, but before any new appointments are made, the council has expressed an interest in learning more about the agency and its roles.
