Thruway crash north of Newburgh injures two, one seriously

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – Two people were injured on the northbound Thruway Friday morning when the car, described by police as a “Ford roadster” ran off the road and struck a guiderail.
The driver and passenger were both ejected in the accident after 8 a.m. when the vehicle they were in hit the rail.  The driver suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center. The passenger was taken to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital for minor injuries.
State Police did not release the identities of the two people.       
The accident remains under investigation.
