WHITE PLAINS – A man, who was convicted on a charge of attempted murder, was sentenced in Westchester County Court on Tuesday to 25 years in state prison.
On October 22, 2014 at about 9:42 a.m., Dimas Pedro, 32, of Yonkers, entered a deli in that city armed with a loaded semi-automatic weapon. He pointed the gun at the victim, who he knew, and opened fire on him at close range, continuing to shoot after the victim fell to the floor. The two had been involved in a prior dispute.
The victim was shot in the right thigh and left collarbone, resulting in injuries that left him permanently paralyzed below the waist.
Along with the prison sentence, Pedro must serve five years of post-release supervision.
