NEW WINDSOR – The Town of New Windsor Police Department is the latest
law enforcement agency in the region to install a drug collection drop
box in the department’s lobby.
People may deposit old and unwanted medications, including controlled
substances in the secure box instead of risking them being abused or contaminating
the water supply.
All medication collected is anonymous and the box is available 24/7/365.
The police department will properly dispose of all medications collected.
The receptacle was provided at no cost to the police department as an
initiative through “The Medication Disposal for Safer Communities”
program.
