Three arrested for stealing from unlocked vehicles

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – Three people are under arrest for allegedly stealing personal items from unlocked vehicles in the Hy Vue Drive area of the Town of Newburgh.
Town Police were called to the area at 4:40 a.m. on Tuesday for a report of suspicious males wandering the neighborhood.
Police located and arrested two adult men and one 15-year-old. They were found in possession of several stolen items that had been taken from unlocked cars in the neighborhood.  All three were charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, both as felonies, and petit larceny as a misdemeanor.
The adults are in the Orange County Jail pending a future court date while the youth was released to the custody of his mother pending a future family court date. Police did not release the names of any of the suspects.
Residents of the Hy Vue Drive area are urged to lock their vehicles and not leave any valuables in their cars.
