NEWBURGH – The 20 police body cameras put into use by the Newburgh
City Police Department months ago are working well, capturing evidence
in cases, Chief Daniel Cameron said.  They are recording some 90
videos per day and some are used in court proceedings.
“In certain cases the district attorney’s office has requested cameras and we forward it to them, but it has been used in court proceedings already,” Cameron said.
The city has money set aside for additional cameras and has already purchased
more digital storage space for the videos.
