MIDDLETOWN – Both campuses of SUNY Orange – Middletown and Newburgh – will get upgrades to their technology infrastructure.  Orange County Government is kicking in $1.4 million with the state paying the other half.
College spokesman Michael Albright said most of the IT upgrade will take place on the Middletown campus.
“That is where most of our servers and data storage and backup occurs, but we do have some inconsistencies between our two campuses so we do want to improve and elevate our wireless connectivity on both campuses so that both campuses are both covered and also look at some of the things that we are doing in Newburgh that are inconsistent technology-wise with Middletown and bring them together,” Albright said.
It is expected all of the projects will be completed by the fall 2016 semester.
