Hilgersom introduces Schultz (right)

MONTICELLO – SUNY Sullivan President Dr. Karin Hilgersom’s last day on the job is May 31.  During Thursday’s county legislature committee meetings, she introduced college Vice President Dr. Robert Schultz, who will lead the transition team.
“He has been my right hand man for the past three years,” Hilgersom said.  “I cannot tell you how much I’ve enjoyed working with Bob.  The College is in good hands.  You’re getting a very deep thinker; a kind, kind person.”
Schultz said he is “happy with this transition and we’ll see what happens over the summer and whether this transition structure will be held in the fall as well.” He said while his focus is academics, he is ready to perform all the administrative duties after Hilgersom’s departure.
The outgoing president, who will assume a similar position at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada, had some parting words for the legislators.
“And I just want to say, again, how much I enjoyed working with the county legislature,” Hilgersom said.  “It’s really been really fun.”
