Liberty man arrested in elder abuse case

LIBERTY – A Liberty man was placed under arrest on Thursday following injuries to two elderly persons.
The injuries were sustained on different occasions over the course of the past several months and at least one assault involved a dangerous instrument. Police said during the investigation it was learned that Michael Fedderman, 43, had endangered the welfare of a developmentally disabled man.
Fedderman was charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person, endangering the welfare of an incompetent of physically disabled person, all as felonies, and misdemeanor assault.  He is in the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $40,000 cash bail.
Police said additional charges are anticipated.
