Former bookkeeper gets prison for stealing over $155,000 from company

KINGSTON – A Red Hook woman who was convicted of grand larceny in connection with the theft of over $155,000 from the company where she was employed, was sentenced Friday to 3 ½ to seven years in prison.
Maureen Leggett was sentenced in Ulster County Court for stealing $155,594 over a period of January 23, 2013 to April 6, 2015.  Her criminal pattern included unlawful use of the business credit card, the owner’s personal credit card, unlawfully writing checks and depositing stolen money into her husband’s account.
This was her third felony conviction for grand larceny and falsifying business records. She was convicted in 2006 and 2009 for similar schemes.
