Port Jervis man arrested on drug charges

PORT JERVIS – A several month undercover investigation by Port Jervis Police into the distribution of heroin in the city and Tri-State region concluded with the arrest on Tuesday of a Port Jervis man.
William Attreed, 46, was found in possession of 610 bags of heroin at the time of his arrest after he allegedly transported the drugs to Port Jervis from Patterson, New Jersey.
A warrant search of his Pike Street apartment resulted in the recovery of packaging materials and a digital scale.
Police charged Attreed with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell as a felony. Additional charges are pending.  He is in the Orange County Jail without bail.
