MONTICELLO – A 50-year-old Monticello man is in the Sullivan County
Jail following a stabbing in the village last Thursday.
On Friday, April 15, Monticello Police charged Arnold Mizell with felony
assault and criminal possession of a weapon following an investigation
into the stabbing of a 51-year-old Monticello man.
Police said Mizell and the victim were involved in an altercation at
about 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Evergreen Drive housing complex during
which Mizell stabbed the victim in the right arm and chest with a knife.
The victim was treated at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris for
two stab wounds and released.
Mizell was committed to the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bail pending
a future court appearance.
