Poughkeepsie streets to be closed 13 hours before Trump arrives

POUGHKEEPSIE – Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump may
be scheduled to speak at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie at
3 p.m. on Sunday – the time was changed from 7 p.m., but downtown
streets will be shut down at 6 in the morning.

With thousands of people expected to flood into the city to see the GOP
frontrunner speak, police are being extra cautious.
Streets to be shut down at 6 a.m. on Sunday, as well as other traffic
modifications, are:
• Main Street between Academy Street and Columbus Drive will be
closed
• Market Street between Academy and Mill streets will be closed
• Cannon Street will be limited to local traffic and closed at Market
Street
• Garden Street will be closed
• Columbus Drive between Mansion and Mill streets will be closed
• Expect traffic delays and possible road closures throughout the
day and evening hours
• There is no parking beginning at 5 a.m. on:
o Main Street between Academy Street and Columbus Drive
o Market Street between Church and Mansion streets
Trump will pay a visit to New York Military Academy in Cornwall, his
alma mater prior to his arrival in Poughkeepsie.

Chelsea Clinton, meanwhile, will hold a pep rally for her mother, Hillary
Clinton, at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Senate Garage in Kingston.
