KINGSTON – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Rifton man, who is an inmate at the Ulster County Jail, on a new charge of falsely reporting an incident.
On March 22, Jurgen Ladstetter, 45, was arrested by members of the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Team on charges related to drug possession. He was sent to jail without bail.
On March 26, Ladstetter filed a report with the sheriff’s office from the jail, claiming he was the victim of a burglary and larceny. He reported someone broke into his home, forced open a safe and stole cash. Investigators determined Ladstetter had fabricated the report.
He was charged by deputies on March 31 with the felonies of offering a false instrument, providing a false sworn statement, perjury and the misdemeanor of falsely reporting an incident.  He remains in jail pending an appearance in Kingston City Court.
