State prisoner charged with possessing two homemade knives in his cell

HIGHLAND – A prisoner at the state’s Shawangunk Correctional
Facility has been charged with two counts of felony promoting prison contraband.

State Police BCI at the Highland Barracks arrested Adam Robinson, 29,
after they were alerted by prison staff that two improvised knives were
located in his cell.

One weapon was fashioned from a can lid and the other was a sharpened
piece of raw metal. They were found hidden in the binding of a hard cover
book.

Robinson remains in prison and will be arraigned in Shawangunk Town Court
at a later date.
Robinson was committed from Oswego County on a charge of felony criminal
contempt. He is serving a sentence of 16 months to four years.
