KIRYAS JOEL – Fire Thursday afternoon is burning at a multi-family
residence at 12 Lizensk Boulevard in the Village of Kiryas Joel. Firefighters
from several departments are on the scene of the blaze which broke out
in the early afternoon. Because of the intensity of the fire, firefighters
who had entered the building were ordered to evacuate.
The structure is a two-story residence with an attached two-story synagogue.
The flames are believed to have erupted in the basement and spread to
the first and second floors.
No injuries were reported and all occupants were removed safely.
