BRUSSELS – A former basketball player at Marist College in Poughkeepsie
was among those injured in the terrorist attacks in Belgium on Tuesday.
Media reports said Sebastien Bellin, a professional basketball player in Europe, sustained leg injuries in the attack on Brussels airport when he was thrown more than 65 feet into the air. He was reported to have undergone two operations to repair the damage to his legs.
Bellin, 37, played for Marist from 1996 through 1998.
More than 30 people were killed and some 200 were injured in the blasts. ISIS has taken credit for the attacks.
