Stony Point man charged in two-year burglary spree

STONY POINT – A Stony Point man is in the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail following his arrest into in connection with a burglary and larceny spree in Stony Point.
Town Police said approximately 60 crimes occurred over a two-year period in the town. Charged with several counts of burglary, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of a firearm and petit larceny was Christopher Landes, 27, who was taken into custody on March 18.
Landes allegedly entered vehicles, sheds and four residences, one of which was occupied, during the crime spree.  Police say he pawned much of the stolen property, some of which was recovered. The investigation is continuing and police said other changes are expected.
Stony Point Police also recovered several items that have yet to be linked with a victim.
