SPRING VALLEY – A 27-year-old man with no known address suffered
a serious stab wound to the left side of his chest when he was assaulted
in the area of Van Orden Avenue and Franklin Street in Spring Valley.
He was transported by ambulance to Nyack Hospital for treatment.
Spring Valley Police arrested a suspect, Tomas Lorenzo-Perez, 39, at the
scene and the knife was recovered.
Lorenzo-Perez was charged with attempted murder and assault.
Police were called to the scene after receiving several reports of a disturbance
on South Main Street in the area of Furman Place. The reports said a man
with a knife was chasing another man trying to stab him.
