Second Republican enters race for Westchester DA

WHITE PLAINS – White Plains resident Bruce Bendish announced his candidacy for Westchester District Attorney today at late morning media event in White Plains.
Bendish, the former Chief of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office Homicide Bureau plans to utilize his 40 years of legal experience to continue to make Westchester a safe and secure community.   He emphasized the need for increased interaction with federal, state and local law enforcement to fight the growing problem of drugs and guns in our community.
“The District Attorney’s Office cannot be confined to the four walls of a courtroom”, Bendish said, “We must proactively attack the drug and gun problem, by interacting with our schools to make all students aware of the dangers and consequences they face when making poor decisions”.
Bendish worked with former DA Janet DiFiore, now the state’s Chief Justice
He describes himself a “non-career politician,” and says he has “zero tolerance for political and governmental corruption at any level. “
Bendish’s announcement came a day after New Rochelle resident Mitch Benson launched his own bid for the office.  Benson is a a former top Nassau County prosecutor.
The two Republicans will vie for the GOP nomination in September state and local primary.
