LIBERTY – State Police have arrested a Liberty man in connection
with the murder of his wife.
Jorge Gonzalez, 65, was charged with murder in the death of Ramona Gonzalez,
33, also of Liberty.
State Police and Village of Liberty Police had conducted a joint investigation
into the disappearance of Mrs. Gonzalez and determined she had been shot
and killed in a wooded area in the Town of Fallsburg.
In addition to the murder charge, Gonzalez was also charged with endangering
the welfare of a child.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
The investigation is continuing.
State and Liberty Village Police were assisted by the Sullivan County
District Attorney’s Office and Town of Fallsburg Police.
