NEW CITY – The Rockland County-owned Summit Park nursing home and hospital were shuttered at the end of this past year, with all patients relocated before then.
County Executive Edwin Day said roughly two-thirds of the residents are still living within the county.
“About 100 of 160 nursing home patients in Rockland County,” Day said.  “We see some of our workers now working in those facilities in Rockland County at probably one of the Jewel nursing homes.”
When the anticipated buyer pulled out of the purchase of the facilities late last year, Day ordered them closed saying the county could no longer subsidize their operations.
