STOCKPORT – A woman who moved out of a Majestic Drive, Town of Stockport home in November of 2015, is charged with 14 counts of animal cruelty for abandoning her dogs in the residence.
Patricia Gregory, 42, was arrested on Friday, January 15 after State Police from Livingston were dispatched to the home to conduct a welfare check of owner. What they found were several malnourished dogs in need of medical attention. Three dogs were found dead inside the residence, which police said was in deplorable condition with urine and feces covering the floor. The dogs not hot have access to food or water.
The Columbia-Greene Humane Society was called in and took over care of the dogs.
An investigation revealed Gregory had moved out last November. She was located and issued an appearance ticket to appear in Town of Stockport Court next month.
State Police were assisted by the Columbia-Greene Humane Society and the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office.
The dogs are available for adoption through the humane society, which can be reached at 518-828-6044 of CGHS.org.
