GOSHEN – Former Orange County Republican political operative Carmen Dubaldi, Jr. was arraigned on Wednesday and faces three counts of felony grand larceny.
Dubaldi, 48, a former New Windsor Town GOP chairman and former campaign treasurer to four Orange County politicians – former County Executive Edward Diana, State Senator William Larkin, County Clerk Annie Rabbitt and County Legislature Chairman Stephen Brescia – was arraigned in Goshen Village Court.  He was released on his own recognizance and the court waived action to the grand jury.
Diana is upset over the entire situation.
“I am deeply disappointed and disturbed that Mr. Dubaldi betrayed my trust and friendship,” Diana said.  “Dubaldi has made restitution of funds and I have every confidence that our criminal justice system will ensure that justice will prevail.”
Larkin spokesman Brian Maher said Larkin “cooperated fully from the beginning of the process with law enforcement and appropriate authorities and he looks forward to our criminal justice system providing a swift and deserving punishment.”

Dubaldi is alleged to have skimmed large sums of money from the campaign accounts of the four politicians while he served as their campaign treasurers. The charges allege that Dubaldi embezzled over $120,000 in campaign funds.
He surrendered to State Police in Monroe for processing and was arraigned.
Ulster County District Attorney Holley Carnright is handling the case. Orange County DA David Hoovler recused himself.
Dubaldi is an employee of Orange County Government working in risk management.
