MONTICELLO – Over 5,000
customers of New York State Electric and Gas lost power late Monday morning
in unrelated outages.

In Sullivan County, 4,087 customers in Fallsburg, Neversink, and Thompson
lost power at 10:42 a.m. when a land clearing contractor dropped a tree
on a major transmission power line, a utility spokeswoman said. Power
was restored to all customers by 11:53 a.m.

In an unrelated incident, 80 customers in Walden lost power at noon with
service expected to be restored later in the day. The cause of that outage
was not immediately known.
