TOWN OF WARWICK – The Warwick agency tasked with selling portions of the former Mid-Orange Correctional Facility property for development of a technology and business park will close on a portion of the land in mid-January for construction of a large hotel and banquet facility.
Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton said the parcel will go for $1.75 million.
“It’s a group of Chinese investors who we have been in contract with,” Sweeton said.  “They expect to submit their plans to the planning board, I believe in January.”
The facility is expected to be between 140 and 150 guest rooms plus the banquet facility. Other portions of the former prison property have been sold or are under various stages of being purchased by private investors.
