Salvation Army employee finds cash in pocket of donated clothing

MIDDLETOWN –Police in Middletown are attempting to locate the woman who dropped off clothing for donation to the Salvation Army offices at 237 Wickham Avenue last week.
Police Lt. Gregory Metakes said an employee found a“substantial”
amount of cash inside a pocket of one of the items. He would not say how
much was found as that would compromise the case.
The money is being held for safekeeping by the police while the owner is sought so the money can be returned.
Metakes said the woman who dropped off the clothing received a document that would assist in identifying the her.
