POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Town of North East woman on charges of grand larceny and welfare fraud stemming from an investigation.
Charlotte Motts, 40, allegedly stole $9,465 in SNAP benefits (food stamps) between August 2013 and November 2014. She is accused of stealing the benefits by concealing that there was other income in her family’s residence.
Motts was charged with grand larceny and welfare fraud, both as felonies, arraigned in Poughkeepsie City Court and released on her own recognizance.
