Wallkill Police investigate attempted robbery in bank parking lot

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the Citizens Bank branch on Route 211 in the Town of Wallkill.
The victim, a 51-year-old Middletown woman, told police she got out of her car just before 6 p.m. on December 14 and deposited money in the ATM. As she completed the transaction, she was approached by a man who forced her into her car and demanded money. When she told him she had none, he fled on foot, empty handed.
The victim was treated by her personal doctor for a minor injury to her neck.
The suspect is described as a black man, about six feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a long black coat, red ski mask and a dark cap.
