Dutchess STOP-DWI Thanksgiving crackdown nets 16 arrests

POUGHKEEPSIE – During
the Thanksgiving crackdown period of November 25-29, police in Dutchess
County conducted impaired driving details consisting of saturation patrols
throughout the county. The arrests included 14 impaired driving arrests
and two other arrests.

Police agencies participating in the crackdown included Dutchess County
Sheriff’s Office, town police in Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, East Fishkill,
City of Poughkeepsie, and villages of Red Hook and Wappingers Falls.

The details were funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Council
and New York State STOP-DWI Program.

In addition to the drunk driving charges, one Philadelphia man was charged
with misdemeanor drug possession of unlawful possession of marijuana while
in the Town of Red Hook and a Poughkeepsie woman was charged with criminal
possession of a weapon in addition to DWI following a personal injury
auto crash in the Town of Dover.

Those arrested on drunk driving charged live in Dutchess, Ulster and Putnam
counties.
