HYDE PARK– A 68-year-old Hyde Park man has been arrested and charged
with predatory sexual assault of a child as a felony.
Douglas Ogden was also charged with felonies of sexual abuse of a child
under the age of 13 by a suspect over 21 as well as two counts of endangering
the welfare of a child as misdemeanors.
Hyde Park Police were called to a residence last Friday, November 27,
for a possible sexual assault of children.
The family was interviewed and the children were brought to the police
station for further investigation. The children, ranging in age from seven
to 15, were interviewed by officers and members of the Child Advocacy
Center after which they picked up Ogden, interviewed him and later charged
him with the crimes.
He was arraigned and committed to the Dutchess County Jail without bail
pending a future court appearance.
