Expansion to begin in the new year

NEW WINDSOR – Design plans are moving ahead for the expansion of the Stewart Airport terminal to provide a separate dedicated area for inbound international flights.
The airport hopes that will attract foreign flights.  Airport Manager Ed Harrison said they are already spreading the word around the airline industry.
“We are currently letting the aviation world know about our plans for this airport,” Harrison said.  “We are very ambitious about the future and we are making those investments, which are consistent with our mission and we are letting the international aviation world know about facilities that are on the horizon.”
The Port Authority Board gave project authorization four years ago for
the $20 million expansion. Work is expected to begin in 2016.
