GOSHEN – Orange County’s effort to attract a Legoland resort is heating up, in fact, the county is one of two areas in the running, according to County Executive Steven Neuhaus.
He said the county has been in daily communications with Lego officials and he is confident Orange County has a very good shot at landing the theme park.
“I believe we are very much in the running. It is between us and New Jersey, at this point, but at the end of the day we are working our hardest to give them a site to build what they need there,” Neuhaus said. “It’s going to be a really awesome thing.”
There are a number of sites where Legoland could be built in Orange County, said Neuhaus.
Dutchess County has also offered sites for the park, which was originally supposed to be constructed in Haverstraw, until town officials said they weren’t interested.
