KINDERHOOK – The driver
in a hit-and-run accident on Route 9H near Fischer Road in the Town of
Kinderhook on October 28 was identified and arrested after Columbia County
Sheriff David Bartlett put a post on Facebook about the make and model
of the suspect vehicle.

The post generated thousands of views and dozens of shares with information
leading deputies to the arrest of Anthony Anatriello, 25, of Hudson. He
was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, passing in a
no passing zone, failure to keep right, and leaving the scene of a property
damage accident. He was issued appearance tickets returnable to Kinderhook
Town Court.

The accident occurred when a southbound vehicle was passing another car
on the curve, in a no-passing zone, and struck a vehicle traveling northbound.
The southbound vehicle fled the scene, but deputies were able to use car
parts left behind to identify the year, make and model of the suspected
vehicle.
