MONTICELLO – Monticello Village Treasurer Lilu Li has tendered her resignation effective the end of the month.  She has been with the village for more than two years.
In a letter to Mayor Douglas Solomon, Li said she is owed $9,500.
“Since July 1, 2013 I worked many hours overtime that I never hot
any comp time or pay,” she wrote. “I donate this time to the
village, but the village should pay me for the 2014 fiscal year; $5,000
that was due to me for my salary and $4,500 health insurance buyout. The
total is $9,500.”
Solomon said he is looking into if Li is owned money and if so, how much.
He is also working toward a replacement.
“I had some discussions with people,” Solomon said.  “I am going to start doing some interviews. I am confident that we will get a qualified person in place in short order.”
The appointment would be up to the mayor with confirmation by the village board.
