HIGHLAND MILLS – Town of Woodbury Police Chief Richard Vasquez has been suspended from his job. Town Attorney Joseph McKay would not comment noting that it is a personnel matter.
What is known is that Vasquez was suspended for 30 days effective on Monday.
He is the Republican candidate for Rockland County sheriff, challenging incumbent Democrat Louis Falco.  Once source told MidHudsonNews.com that the suspension may have arisen from Vazquez’s campaigning on town time.
Vasquez has not returned a call for comment.
