GREENVILLE – A Greenville man was arrested on Sunday for obstructing an ambulance crew.
Greenville Volunteer Ambulance Corp EMTs responded to a residence on
Orange County Route 1 at 7 p.m. to render emergency medical aid to a woman
suffering from a life-threatening medical condition.
One EMT returned to the ambulance to retrieve additional medical supplies and was allegedly accosted by a neighbor, Robert Garreau, Sr., 68, who struggled with the EMT to prevent him from treating the woman. The EMT was able to evade Garreau and return to the patient, who was transported to a hospital.
State Police were called and took Garreau into custody. He was charged with the misdemeanor of obstructing emergency medical services.
