POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess
County Executive Marcus Molinaro plans to map out his proposal to merge
the county departments of Health and Mental Hygiene when he addresses
the county legislature Thursday.
He will also discuss the plans for the new Crisis Stabilization Center
for the prevention, intervention and diversion to address mental health
and/or substance abuse issues.
The crisis center is a key component in the development of the Dutchess
County Justice and Transition Center, providing a separate facility with
mental and physical health services where individuals can be diverted
away from the Dutchess County Jail and into treatment in conjunction with
the county’s Mobile Crisis Intervention Team.
Molinaro will present his proposed county 2016 budget prior to the November
1 deadline.
