All-clear after bomb scare in Newburgh’s Maple Building

NEWBURGH – Police and
fire officials have given the all-clear signal following a bomb scare
in the Maple Building at the foot of Broadway in Newburgh. The building
houses Social Security offices and other tenants.

The tower building and Kaplan Hall, both part of the SUNY Orange Newburgh
campus, were not affected although pedestrian traffic along the campus
plaza was prohibited and people leaving the buildings were rerouted.

Authorities conducted a search and found no signs of a threat.
