Omega presents Poughkeepsie Farm Project with annual award and leadership grant

RHINEBECK – Omega Institute
in Rhinebeck will present its Annual Leadership in Sustainable Education
Award to the Poughkeepsie Farm Project, an organization working to provide
hands-on education about where food comes from and why it matters.
Robert Backus, Omega’s CEO, said the Poughkeepsie Farm Project “has made great strides with community partners to increase support for growing and serving local foods in schools.”
In addition to a $10,000 grant from Omega, the farm project will receive a strategic planning retreat at Omega to help strengthen organizational development and further its mission.               
Omega will present the award during its Seeds of Change Conference on Saturday, October 10.
