POUGHKEEPSIE – The former IBM property in the Town of East Fishkill, which has been off the tax rolls for years, will now be placed back on.
Global Foundries, which is purchasing the massive property from Big Blue, met with the Dutchess County Industrial Development Agency on Tuesday where the county agency confirmed the transfer of the land and placement of the property back on the tax rolls.
That is very good news for the county and its residents, said County Legislator and IDA Board Member Angela Flesland.
“This is an exciting reinvestment in the community and as far as
the old IBM campus expanding and creating and keeping jobs here and getting
more parcels on the tax rolls,” Flesland said. She also pointed
to the sports dome on the former IBM West campus that will also be on
the tax rolls, creating local jobs, and positive economic impact.
Global Foundries completed its acquisition of IBM’s Microelectronics business in July.
