Two arrested in Ulster drug bust

ULSTER – The Ulster Regional
Gang Enforcement Narcotics Tast Force arrested two people on Friday in
connection with the trafficking of heroin and cocaine.
Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on Kings Highway in the Town of Ulster where they seized 98 bags of heroin, three grams of crack cocaine, diverted pharmaceuticals and paraphernalia related to the packaging of those drugs for sale.
Tristan Mortensen, 25, of Saugerties, was charged with the felonies of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, tampering with physical evidence, and conspiracy, and misdemeanors of criminally using drug paraphernalia and three counts of drug possession.   He is in the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
Jessica Jones, 24, of Kingston, the driver of Mortensen’s vehicle, was charged with misdemeanors of criminal facilitation and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.  She is being held in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
URGENT officers were assisted by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and K-9 units.
