WURTSBORO – Three members of one family were killed and three other
passengers in a suburban-type vehicle were injured late Monday afternoon
when their vehicle rolled over several times and crashed on Route 17 eastbound
in the Wurtsboro area.

Initial reports indicate a man, who was one of the first Hatzolah ambulance
paramedics when the agency was formed and a NYPD Auxiliary inspector;
his wife, who was a registered nurse in New York City; and their future
son-in-law, were killed in the crash. Three other people in the vehicle
were injured, but to what extent was not immediately known.

The eastbound lanes of the highway were shut down as EMS and police personnel
tended to the victims and conducted an investigation.
