Major power failure hits Sullivan County

MONTICELLO – Some 45,000
customers of New York State Electric and Gas were left in the dark early
Wednesday when equipment failure at a substation occurred. The cause of
that failure is under investigation.

Impacted areas included Cochecton, Ferndale, Jeffersonville, Liberty,
Livingston Manor, White Lake, and Yulan.

Power was out from about midnight until 2:40 a.m.
