NEWBURGH – A member of the Newburgh City Council threatened City Manager Michael Ciaravino’s job after he launched a probe into alleged corruption, sources close to City Hall told MidHudsonNews.com.
Ciaravino began an investigation into a police officer who is out of work on a disability. The sources said the manager was told by a council member to start packing his bags after he refused to back off on his probe.
Ciaravino would not comment about the situation.
On Monday, MidHudsonNews.com reported he had received a subpoena from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office to provide all documents pertaining to disability claims, hearings and actions “possessed or received from any elected or appointed city officials.” That information was to be investigated by an Orange County grand jury.
